Hire questions

The questions we get asked most. If yours is not here, call (02) 9197 4866.

How long is a hire day?

A hire day is 24 hours from collection or delivery. Additional days are charged at 50% of the day rate, so a three day hire costs twice the daily figure rather than three times.

Do your prices exclude GST?

Yes. Every price on this site is a day rate and excludes GST. Anything priced per hour is marked as such.

Can I collect the equipment myself?

Yes. Collection is from Kingsford in Sydney or Port Melbourne in Victoria, by appointment. Everything on the site is available for collection except items that come with an assistant, such as photo booths.

How much is delivery?

Delivery starts at $100 within 10km of either warehouse. Beyond that it depends on distance, access and how much gear is going, so it is quoted once we know the venue.

Do you set the equipment up?

We can set up and pack down any item. Staging, trussing, LED screens and dance floors are normally installed by our crew. Photo booth hire always includes an assistant.

Do you take a bond?

Yes, a bond is held against a credit card for the duration of the hire and released when the equipment comes back in the condition it went out.

How far in advance should I book?

For weekends in peak season — October through April, and December — as early as you can. Dance floors, photo booths and staging go first.

Do you supply performers as well as equipment?

Yes. DJs, MCs, saxophone, bouzouki, bongo and toubeleki players, dancers, magicians and bands. These are quoted separately from equipment hire.

Can you do Greek, Lebanese or Indian weddings?

Yes, and it is something we do often. We can supply the production and the musicians together — bouzouki, bongos, toubeleki, Lebanese drummer, Bollywood and Samba performers.

Do you cover both Sydney and Melbourne?

Yes, with stock in both. Sydney is Kingsford, Melbourne is Port Melbourne.

What power do uplights need?

Uplights run on 10 amp power and measure roughly 15 x 10 x 10cm. We also have battery-powered uplights that need no power run at all, which matters in heritage venues and marquees.

Will the karaoke machine connect to my TV?

Only if your TV has an RCA input. Many newer sets do not. If yours does not, hire the karaoke package that includes a screen and it will work out of the box.
